Message Storage & Retention

We store WhatsApp messages for a period of 30 days to:

  • Enable healthcare providers to review conversation history

  • Ensure quality of service

Messages are automatically deleted after 30 days. All stored messages are encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption.

Message Access & Monitoring

Your healthcare provider may access conversation history to:

  • Provide better patient support and follow-up care
  • Review appointment and consultation details
  • Ensure continuity of communication

We do NOT:

  • Share your messages with other patients or providers
  • Use message content for advertising purposes
  • Sell or transfer your conversation data to third parties

Medivice administrators may access aggregated, anonymized metrics (such as message counts and error rates) for system monitoring purposes, but do not access individual message content.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We comply with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare data protection regulations.

Third-Party Services

We use the WhatsApp Business API provided by Meta to facilitate messaging. When you communicate via WhatsApp:

  • Meta processes messages according to their privacy policy
  • We act as the data controller; Meta acts as data processor
  • Messages are end-to-end encrypted during transmission
  • We comply with WhatsApp Business Terms of Service
